This Privacy Policy explains how SurfMap ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application ("App") and related services. SurfMap is published by Guillaume Bernos, independent developer, France.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: Name, email address, and payment details when you subscribe to premium features.
• Usage Data: Interactions with the app, such as viewed forecasts, favorite spots, and settings.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique identifiers, IP address, language settings.
• Location Data: Approximate or precise location (only if you grant permission) to provide accurate surf forecasts.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

• Deliver and improve the SurfMap app and features.
• Provide accurate surf forecasts and alerts.

7. Advertising Cookies in the Shop

When you reach the tee shop (surf-map.com/shop) by clicking one of our ads on Instagram or Facebook, we ask whether we can use Meta's advertising cookies. Nobody else is asked, and the cookies are never set unless you accept.

If you accept, the Meta pixel loads on the shop pages. It sets the _fbp cookie (and_fbc when you came from an ad) and tells Meta which shop pages you viewed, which tees you added to your cart and when you started a checkout. If you then place an order, our server also tells Meta about that order: its amount and the tees in it, a coded (SHA-256 hashed) copy of your email address, name, city, postal code and country, your IP address and your browser type. Meta uses this to show us how many orders our ads lead to and to show our ads to people who are more likely to be interested. Meta Platforms Ireland Limited is joint controller with us for this collection and transfer; how Meta handles the data is in its privacy policy at facebook.com/privacy/policy.

The legal basis is your consent. We keep your choice for 13 months (6 months if you refuse). You can change it at any time with "Cookie choices" at the bottom of every shop page. If you refuse, nothing is sent to Meta and the shop works exactly the same.

8. Children's Privacy

SurfMap is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted in-app and on our website.
